Kota Kinabalu: The Magistrate’s Court here Friday jailed a 38-year-old man seven months for trespassing into a primary school classroom in Luyang.
Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles meted out the sentence to Md Afifi Nanun after he pleaded guilty to committing the offence at SK Bukit Padang between 8pm on Nov 11, 2023 and 8am the next day.

The court heard from the prosecution that police found Afifi’s fingerprints on the sliding glass window of the building following a report lodged by the teacher.
Investigations revealed that Afifi had replaced his brother as a security guard at the school on the day of the incident.
Unrepresented Afifi requested for lenient sentence. The prosecution applied for an adequate sentence.

In another case, a 25-year-old foreigner was jailed 13 months for keeping a stolen motorcycle.
Md Shanill Basic admitted to keeping the stolen machine belonging to Becham Martin at the five-foot-way of Block G, Taman Sri Rugading, Tuaran, on Nov 2, 2023 at 7pm.

The charge under Section 411 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between six months and five years and liability of a fine, on conviction.
The prosecution informed the court that the motorcycle was reported missing on Oct 10, 2023 at UUC Telipok.
