Study at private colleges

AFTER your SPM/STPM you have the option to study in Private Colleges. There are many well-known colleges offering quality education in Sabah. If you are considering studying in Private Colleges or Universities, first explore what is offered by the private institutions in Sabah.

They may offer a course related to your passion. If the course is available at your doorstep, why waste a lot of money, time and energy studying away from your hometown. You can still stay with your family for the next two or three years. Private education is affordable provided you choose wisely.

Step 1

Before you start exploring, make a list of courses that you have in mind. List them according to your priority. Write at least eight courses that you have chosen.

Step 2

Browse through the internet and read about the colleges, where they are located, what courses are offered, what is the entry qualification, how much is the tuition fees, duration of the program and financial aid offered.

Step 3

Compare and choose at least three colleges which meets your requirements. Talk to students who have studied in the college for reference. They can give you a lot of information that you can’t get from the college brochures. Next, talk to them over the phone or on-line. You don’t have to be shy and you can ask all the questions that you want. Lastly, visit the College and see with your own eyes. Often pictures in the advertisements can be misleading.
