SANDAKAN: A 24-year-old Pakistani with MyKad was charged with rape and sexual assault against his 21-year-old female employee, at the court, here, Monday.However, no plea was taken from him when the charges were read to him before Magistrate Herlina Muse.

Herlina set Oct 27 for the case mention at the Sessions Court, and offered bail to the man of RM20,000 with RM15,000 deposited in two local sureties.
His passport has also been impounded by the court. The man was accused of committing both offences at 6.30pm, on Sept 26, at a grocery shop’s store in Beluran.
He was accused under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code and Section 377CA of the Penal Code, which carry a jail term of up to 20 years, and whipping, on conviction.
The accused was represented by Mohamed Zairi Zainal Abidin, while Deputy Public Prosecutor Mark Kenneth Netto prosecuted.
