Programme enables leaders to reach out to those affected

LAHAD DATU: The food basket assistance programme also serves as a medium for leaders to reach out to those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Lahad Datu Chief, Abdul Hakim Gulam Hassan said leaders can obtain more details on the people’s situation through such programme.

He said the programme also enables leaders to provide moral support to the people.
“I hope the assistance can to some extent help those affected by the pandemic.
“We will also continue our commitment in helping the people as much as possible,” he said during the handing over of food baskets from Perikatan Nasional to a total of 471 residents in Taman Aman 1, Taman Aman 2, Taman Gabungan, Taman Harapan, Taman Gembira and Kampung Yong Asia.
According to Abdul Hakim, the assistance was also part of the efforts implemented by Perikatan Nasional out of concern for the people.

The programme saw the participation of those from the Bersatu Lahad Datu Division, Srikandi Bersatu Lahad Datu, Armada Lahad Datu and the People’s Development Unit (UPPM) from Silam and Segama.
