Mohamad Johawalia, the additional culverts will help to prevent flooding in the area.
“When it rains, the installation of culverts will prevent water from pouring on the road,” he said.
Flooding throughout the stretch, he said, makes travel difficult for vehicles, particularly smaller cars.
“Something like this should be taken seriously by the Public Works Department,” he said.

“I trust the Sabah Works Minister will take prompt steps to address the matter.”
He says that at least five culverts are required to prevent floods from occurring along the area.

Meanwhile, taxpayers in Beaufort want the government to fix potholes on the Beaufort- Sipitang routes.
Mazlan Awang, a resident, believes the Public Works Department should investigate the condition of the Beaufort-Sipitang roads.
He says that because the roads have been neglected, many potholes have appeared along the route, leading cars to be damaged.
“Are those in the Public Works Department or the Pan Borneo uninformed of the bad state of the roads here? Have they ever driven through this area to assess the state of the roads?
“Potholes pose a risk to vehicles on the roads at night and on rainy days when visibility is limited,” he said.
He claims that many car tyres blow out after hitting potholes.
