Kota Belud to get seven new telecom towers: Salleh
“This demonstrates the government’s commitment to broadening coverage and improving the quality of broadband services across the Kota Belud district. For the remote areas, maybe we will use a satellite.”
KOTA BELUD: The government has approved RM8.94 million for the construction of seven new telecommunication towers in Kota Belud this year, said Usukan assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak.

The former Communications and Multimedia Minister said the project under the National Digital Network Plan (Jendela) would be carried out in Kampung Mandawang, Kampung Lugu, Kampung Pangi, Kampung Lasau Tintapon, Sekolah Kebangsaan Labuan, Sekolah Kebangsaan Gunsarai and Kampung Lahanas Siba.

“This demonstrates the government’s commitment to broadening coverage and improving the quality of broadband services across the Kota Belud district. For the remote areas, maybe we will use a satellite.”

He said this at the opening of the Security and Economic Improvement talk for the Kadamaian constituents at Kampung Melangkap, here, Thursday.

Salleh also called on the people to take advantage of the Internet to venture into digital or online business.

In this regard, he said it was important for the government to help provide Internet facilities or access to make it easier for them to conduct their business online.

Kota Belud is a district in the west coast of Sabah and located 70 km north of the state capital, Kota Kinabalu.
