Mobile dental service benefits rural folks

Kota Kinabalu: The Mobile Dental Clinic (KPB) and the Mobile Dental Team Vehicle (PPB) benefit the people of Sabah’s rural areas, said Sabah Health Director Datuk Dr Rose Nani Mudin.She said the two facilities are aimed at providing the best health facilities to the people of Sabah, especially in rural areas.

“KPB is a vehicle that has been modified and converted into a dental clinic and equipped with static dental equipment to provide dental services in an outreach manner.
“While PPB is a four-wheel drive transmission vehicle (4WD) that benefits residents who live far from dental clinic facilities.
“These two facilities will move out into rural areas to provide dental health services including in schools, nurseries and kindergartens, rural clinics, Community-based Rehabilitation Centers (PDK), Elderly Care Centers as well as collaborating in various programs organised by the government agencies and external agencies,” she said.
Dr Rose Nani said this to the media after officiating Sabah’s KPB and PPB Vehicles here, on Friday.

So far, she said KPB would be stationed in Sandakan while PPB vehicles in Sandakan, Tongod and Semporna.
Also present were Sabah State Deputy Health Director (Dental), Dr Zaiton H. Tahir, Sandakan Area Dental Officer, Dr Asmahani Aziz and Pioneer Coachbuilders Sdn Bhd General Manager, Khaw Soy Ou.
