MASwings’ twice weekly direct Miri-Long Banga service launched

Kota Kinabalu: MASwings, the Pulse of Borneo and a subsidiary of Malaysia Aviation Group, has launched its new twice weekly direct flight from Miri to Long Banga under its Public Services Obligation (PSO) effective March 23, this year.The introduction of this new direct service will provide convenience for local communities in facilitating their movement to support small businesses and for leisure travel, while also helping to boost the community’s tourism industry by opening new avenues of economic development in the rural touch points.

As the only provider connecting rural areas in Borneo, MASwings remains committed to support the state governments’ aspiration for Sabah and Sarawak’s continuous economic growth and development.
The airline will continue to prioritise on-going efforts to improve flight connectivity especially within the villages of Sabah and Sarawak where mostly are not reachable by the main roads.
MASwings’ twice weekly direct service from Miri to Long Banga will operate via the DHC6-400 Twin Otter and is available on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Additionally, passengers also have the option to fly to Long Banga from Miri via Marudi, which operates one flight every Tuesday.

The inaugural flight was officiated by Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department and Mulu Assemblyman Datuk Gerawat Gala at Miri Airport to send off passengers on the first flight accompanied by MASwings Chief Operating Officer Suresh Singam.
Passengers can book their journey through MASwings or Malaysia Airlines ticketing offices, or at any appointed travel agents throughout Malaysia.
