At the same time, he said, the administrators need to be aware of the current heat wave situation at their respective schools or institutions.
“For temperatures exceeding 35-37 degrees Celsius three days in a row, the administrators should stop all outdoor activities. As of today, the schools are still running as usual by minimising activities outside the classroom,” said Dr Mohd Arifin, who is also Science, Technology and Innovation Minister.
He said the State Government through the Sabah State Education Department would monitor and inform the current hot weather condition from time to time.
The national media reported on May 2 the Education Ministry has no plans to implement online classes if schools are temporarily closed due to the current hot weather.
