Kota Kinabalu: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) said it was happy to see the passing of the Anti-Party Hopping Bill at the State Assembly sitting last week, but regretted that the removing of Article 6(7) from the Sabah State Constitution failed to garner full support from the opposition.

LDP President Datuk Chin Su Phin said the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government had made it clear when the Constitution of the State of Sabah (Amendment) Enactment 2023 aimed at preventing party hopping by state elected representatives was tabled at the Assembly on Thursday.

Hence, LDP hoped all parties in Sabah would work together in moving forward, rather than resorting to political manoeuvres that would undermine the development of the State.
