Kota Kinabalu: A total of 143 passengers from Xi’an, China arrived at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport at 3am on Tuesday on a chartered flight by Zhejiang Loong Air of the People’s Republic of China.
On hand to receive them was Sabah Tourism Board (STB) Deputy Chief Executive Officer Tay Shu Lan.

In a statement, State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew said she welcomed the Chinese visitors who are touring Sabah on a five-day-four-night package.
“Through Zhejiang Loong Air, we are opening another door for people from China to visit our tourism hotspots and explore business or investment opportunities,” she said.
Liew was glad to learn that the airline would operate direct chartered flights from Xi’an to Kota Kinabalu three times per week until August 30, using Airbus 320.
On her recent working visit to China, she had met the Vice-Mayor of Xi’an, Meng Yao, to rekindle bilateral tourism cooperation and cultural exchange.
