KUNAK: A 39-year-old driver of Toyota Vigo sustained leg injuries after the vehicle crashed into a ravine at KM3 Jalan Kunak-Lahad Datu, Sunday.
District Fire and Rescue Department Chief Mohamad Omarbatha said they received the emergency call at 1.19pm via the MERS 999 line.
A team of five members led by Operations Commander Rosman Gari went to the scene on a fire engine and EMRS ambulance.
“Firemen managed to extricate the victim who suffered leg injuries using special equipment.
“The vehicle was located five metres from the main road,” he said, adding that the victim was given initial treatment by the EMRS team before being sent to the hospital in a Health Ministry ambulance.
Operations ended at 2.17pm.
