Unfair as AG was holidaying with Safar abroad: NGO
Juriah also said before Nor Asiah was targeted, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah leaders were seen attacking their own lawyer, Datuk Tengku Ahmad Fuad, the State’s legal advisor appointed by the GRS-PH Government.
Kota Kinabalu: The GRS-PH State Government shouldn’t blame Sabah Attorney General Datuk Nor Asiah Mohd Yusof over the blunder in the 40 per cent revenue entitlement case, says NGO Bersama Kita Peduli.

Its Chairperson Juriah Datuk Hj Uda Sulai said she did not see any wrongdoing by Nor Asiah and that the government should be correcting the wrong, instead of looking for a scapegoat.

“Is Nor Asiah guilty of being abroad with an entourage of State Government officials, including State Secretary Datuk Safar Untong, during the Sabah Law Society’s (SLS) Federal Government’s judicial review?

“If being abroad when the government is facing a court case is wrong, why were they given approval or maybe directed to go abroad by the State Government itself?” Juriah asked.

Juriah also said before Nor Asiah was targeted, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah leaders were seen attacking their own lawyer, Datuk Tengku Ahmad Fuad, the State’s legal advisor appointed by the GRS-PH Government.

“Fuad who admitted that he represents the Sabah Government sparked the anger of the people of Sabah because he acted against SLS and sided with the Deputy Attorney General in the proceedings on May 16.

“The famous lawyer’s actions was seen to confuse the four Judge Panel of the Court of Appeal who then decided to postpone their decision to May 24.

“The GRS leader then issued a statement that the GRS+PH Government never appointed Fuad to represent the Government.

“They said Fuad was not acting in line with the Sabah Government’s approach which supports SLS efforts.

“How can a lawyer who is known to be very close to the GRS leaders all this time issue an argument that is not in line with the Government’s position?” Juriah asked.

She said Fuad’s appointment letter from the Sabah Attorney General’s Department confirmed Fuad is to represent them in any court proceedings regarding the SLS Judicial Review case.
