Papar road bullying: Four nabbed

PAPAR: Police here rounded up four individuals believed involved in a road bully incident that happened at Jalan Papar-Kota Kinabalu, Melinsung, here, Oct 4.

District Police Chief DSP Batholomew Ak Umpit said the incident happened at about 10.15pm along the road when the victim in his 20s was travelling towards Beaufort and was trailed by a white Perodua Kenari.

Upon arriving Jalan Bukit Melinsung, he said the white vehicle made an emergency stop in front of the victim in the middle of the road before four unidentified men smashed his car windshield.

“It was believed that the incident happened due to dissatisfaction of the suspects who were overtaken by the victim during the journey.

“Following the incident, the victim who feared for his safety managed to escape and lodged a police report,” he told Daily Express.

Batholomew said investigation was carried out and the four suspects aged between 14 and 26 were arrested an hour later by a patrol unit near the Papar post office to facilitate investigation under Section 506/427 of the Penal Code.
