NABAWAN: Jackson Nicholos emerged Sugandoi Kaamatan champion at district level after beating six other contestants.
Jackson brought his first song titled Samot Dit Ondu and his second song-Pahalungan Ra Huang Mai composed and sung by himself.
The runner-up was Jenneyviey William who performed the first song Upus Nu and the second song Nunuk Ragang.
Third place went to Irdina Diwalang Abdullah with the first song Hombo and the second song Lakaso Taka Kalumpayan.
In this category, four other participants each received a consolation prize namely, Salprin Salleh, Mick Shantiago Taihing, Moraine Siam and Alfazira Era Mathew.
The champion for the Songkotoun category was won by Rosdi James Emis Bambangan with his song Sunsugali Sugali.
The runner-up and third place were respectively won by Markus Kumalu with the song Nairuan Noyo Pamahunan and Tallest Joseph Tamit with the song Vinuon.
Another participant in this category Raunis @ Sylvester Kandoi with the song Huangku Mangkada-Kada received the consolation prize.
Meanwhile, for the Dazanak category, Chelviorabeona Brandon who performed the song Araatan was crowned as the winner.
Runner-up and third place respectively went to Whitneylovelyn Zediwardiwan with Hiti No Masoku and Filzah Nur Qaisara Nordin with Gompiyo Noh Piupusan.
Aiden Louie Pearl won the consolation prize.
The Sugandoi competition was officiated by Senator Datuk Bobbey A. Suan who presented the prizes to the winners.
All winners and runners-up in each category of the Sugandoi Kaamatan competition at the Nabawan District level will represent Nabawan and Pagalungan to the State level Sugandoi Kaamatan competition which will take place in Hongkod Koisaan Penampang at the end of this month.
Also present were Nabawan District Officer Peter Jiton, Community Development Leader (PPM) of Nabawan, Deckson Andipai and community leaders.
