Indonesian caught with syabu worth RM4K

LAHAD DATU: A 37-year-old Indonesian was detained by police on Saturday for possessing syabu worth more than RM4,000.
District Police Chief ACP Nasri Mansor said the suspect was detained about 5.30pm at the KTS junction of Lahad Datu-Tawau road by a team from Narcotic Crime Investigation Division.

He said, the suspect acted aggressively when approached.
“The suspect was detained after a struggle and during body inspection, he handed over a plastic packet containing four plastic smaller packets filled with a substance believe to be Syabu.
“The drugs, weighing 30.79gm worth RM4,618.50 and 20 foils as well as the suspect were taken to the police headquarters for further action,” he said.

The suspect also tested positive for drug but does not have any previous criminal records.

That the case is being investigated under Section 39A(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
