Trafficking 53gm syabu: Three labourers charged
The offence under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, carries a punishment of either the death penalty or life in prison and whipping with a minimum of 15 strokes.
Kota Kinabalu: Three labourers were tentatively charged in the Magistrate’s Court here with trafficking 53.52gm of syabu.

Indonesian Rauhilfud S Zimu, 29, local Nursani Amming, 37, and Filipino Danico Bernado, 26, who were brought before Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie, allegedly committed the offence on March 27, at 11.50am, at a house in Kg Delima, Manggatal.

However, no plea was recorded from them.

Bonaventure Chong pleaded guilty to having four slips of lottery tickets without a licence at 4.30pm on March 9, at Putatan New Township.

The court heard from the prosecution that Chong was arrested by police during an ‘OP Dadu’ after the illegal lottery tickets, as well as a handphone, a mobile printer and RM40 cash, were found on him.

Chong was charged under Section 9(1) of the Common Gaming House Act which provides for a fine of up to RM5,000 or up to six months jail or both on conviction.
