Tuaran: Marine police seized 166 cartons of suspected contraband liquor from a house in Taman Semaju, Tamparuli, on Tuesday.
Sabah Marine Police (Region Four) Commander ACP Ahmad Ariffin said the liquor of various brands was estimated to be worth RM27,148.
He said the operation was launched based on complaints and information from the public following a two-hour surveillance.
“Among the liquor brands are Sea Pearl (60 cartons), Anchor (50 cartons), Chal’als Draught Biru (40 cartons) and Chal’s Draught Hijau (16 cartons),” he said in a statement, Wednesday.
Ahmad said the house’s fence was left open and glass door was not locked.
“No arrests were made. All the liquor was taken to the Kota Kinabalu Marine Police Office before being handed over to the Sabah Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) for further action,” he said.
