‘Reconsider Covid-19 booster dose recommendations’ call
Abdul Rahim said the government must also consider the public’s concerns about vaccine administration and use.
LAHAD DATU: Former Silam Community Development Leader Abdul Rahim Ghulam Hassan (pic) hopes the government will reconsider the Covid-19 booster dose recommendations.

He said the government must find other ways to address the issue.

He said the government must also consider the public’s concerns about vaccine administration and use.

“The government needs to re-evaluate this matter and take into account the people’s complaints about the negative effects of taking the vaccine outweighing the positives,” he said in a statement.

Abdul Rahim, who formerly served the community, felt guilty for encouraging, promoting, and organising immunisation programmes.

He said that before this, he made the decision based on the Fatwa council’s belief that getting vaccinated is required and that he should trust that it is safe.

“Getting the vaccine at that time was another way to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.

“However, it has now been discovered to have a negative effect, and I am deeply sorry for my previous actions. I sincerely apologise to the community, particularly the residents of Lahad Datu,” he said.

Abdul Rahim was previously the Deputy Division Head of the Lahad Datu Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

He has since decided to stop and not get involved in politics.
