RANAU: A local family in a village here lost almost their possessions when their home was destroyed in a fire on Monday night.

Head of Ranau Fire and Rescue Station, PPgB Ridwan Bin Mohd Taib said the incident happened in Kg Paka 2 Ranau at 9pm.

“We received a call through the Station Line at 9.15pm and rushed to the scene with 11 personnel led by myself along with an FRV truck and an EMRS van.

“Upon arriving at the location we see a 2-storey semi-permanent house measuring 30’x40’ on fire destroying 70 per cent of the 2nd floor.

“The Fire Brigade acted to control and extinguish the fire from spreading using 1 stream of 100’ 2 source fountains from our tanks and fire hydrants nearby,” he said.

Ridwan said no victims were reported hurt while the operation was put under control and ended at 10.56pm.
