1,531 premises offering Rahmah Menu registered with Ministry

SANDAKAN: A total of 1,531 premises offering Rahmah Menu have been registered with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).Its Minister, Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub said, it showed the traders’ support for the government’s efforts to provide affordable food to the people.

Salahuddin encouraged traders to register with KPDN through the website menurahmah.kpdn.gov.my so that KPDN could help in terms of promotion.
“Rahmah’s Menu is now extended to restaurants, food courts, cafeterias and fast food chains.
“There are no conditions imposed on interested entrepreneurs. They just need to make sure the nutritional content offered is balanced; there are carbohydrates, proteins and vitamins,” he said.
Salahuddin said this when attending the Rahmah Menu Tour at Mydin Supermarket, here, on Saturday.

Also present were Minister of Community Development and People’s Welfare, Datuk James Ratib, Managing Director of Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd, Datuk Wira Dr Ameer Ali Mydin.
In a separate event, Salahuddin launched the Rahmah Package offered by Hotel Elopura, Sandakan.

Hotel Elopura was the first hotel in Malaysia to offer a Rahmah package where throughout the month of Ramadan, visitors could get a 20 per cent discount and free sahur.
During Hari Raya, visitors would continue to enjoy a 20 percent discount along with free breakfast.
“This Rahmah hotel package provides an opportunity for outside visitors to come to Sandakan and will further enhance the tourism industry.
“I hope this package can be expanded with the involvement of more hoteliers throughout Malaysia in an effort to boost the tourism industry,” he added.
