MP: Upgrade dilapidated guard posts in Esszone
Suhaimi welcomed the additional allocation for Esscom from RM26.48 million last year to RM28.09 million this year.
SANDAKAN: The Home Ministry has been urged to upgrade the dilapidated guard posts in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (Esszone) to enhance the security control in the State.

Making the call, Libaran MP Datuk Suhaimi Nasir said the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) has a big responsibility to curb any cross border crimes in Sabah.

“Esscom is still relevant in maintaining and enhancing the security control for the wellbeing of the people,” he said during the Home Ministry’s committee-level debate, at the Dewan Rakyat.

Meanwhile, Suhaimi welcomed the additional allocation for Esscom from RM26.48 million last year to RM28.09 million this year.

“This increase can strengthen Esscom’s roles.”

He also mentioned the need of setting up a new guard post in Kampung Sungai Daling, Mile 12, here.

“The issue is not the allocation as it has been approved, but the suitable site had not been found yet,” he said.

To this end, he hopes the Home Ministry will take the relevant action.
