Elderly man killed in K’gau collision
KENINGAU: An elderly man was killed when the Proton Waja car he was driving skidded and collided with a Toyota Revo at Km 10, Keningau-Tenom Road, on Saturday.

District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Shahrudin Mat Husain said the 69-year-old victim, identified as Tinsim Petek, was from Tenom to Keningau when he lost control and collided with the 4WD driven by a 74-year-old man and travelling in the opposite direction about 3.50pm. 

He said the Toyota Revo driver and two others in the vehicle suffered minor injuries.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre said it received an emergency call through MERS999 and deployed two engines led by Tony Sipin with eight personnel from the Keningau Fire and Rescue Station to the scene some 10km away.
