PENAMPANG: A 65-year-old man suffered burns to the back of his body when his house along Jalan Hiko, Kg Hungab, here, was engulfed in flames last Wednesday. 

The Sabah Fire Operations Centre received the distress call at 10.47pm.

Fourteen Penampang Station rescue workers arrived at the scene within five minutes.

“The fire damaged a two-storey house and two cars – Perodua Kancil and Rusa.

“The victim was sent to the hospital via ambulance,” an agency spokesperson said in a statement.

The situation was under control by 11.34pm and ended at 1.05am.
