Buyers seek better housing laws, enforcement
One of the housing estates in Kota Kinabalu.
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah House Buyers Group called on the Sabah Government to improve archaic and outdated laws over housing matters in the state, besides strict enforcement of laws and quality vetting of housing developers.

In an open letter dated April 1, Margaret Ng stated on behalf of its many members:

“Having gone through agonising years of prolonged, unnecessary waiting for the completion of a stratified project some of us invested into and having have to wrestle with an ‘established’ developer, we are cognizant of the fact that Sabah house buyers are always getting the short end of the stick.

“This is because there are long-drawn-out loopholes and shortcomings to the Sabah housing laws.
