PENAMPANG: Kadazandusun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Monday expressed its strong support to Datuk Ewon Benedick’s call for adoption of the term Momogun in official forms and documents which is now labelled as Lain-Lain.
Its President, Datuk Ladislaus Maluda said the adoption of Momogun to designate the indigenous people in Sabah instead of Lain-Lain is long overdue and appropriate.

He said he find it odd that Kadazan, Dusun, Murut, Rungus, Tatana, etc. would find itself categorized as Lain-Lain when before, there was an official designation of Kadazan Dusun in government forms.
He further said that the adoption of the term Momogun would also greatly assist the indigenous business community in their dealings with the various business communities as well as government ministries, departments, agencies and government linked agencies.
With Momogun, KCCI can further push and transform the Momogun business community to greater heights while being complemented by the usage of various sub-ethnic terms,” he said.
Towards this end, he called on the State Government to speedily resolve the issue in the spirit of Malaysian Madani.
