Kota Kinabalu: Chairman Datuk Clement Yeh praised the State Government led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor for giving equal importance to Chinese education.

“I also express my gratitude to Hajiji for his concern about the development of Chinese schools in Sabah, including Kian Kok Middle School.

“Many thanks also for approving our request for additional funds for the development of the school,” Clement said at the 60th anniversary of Kian Kok at Hakka Hall, Likas.

Clement said he was privileged to share Kian Kok’s vision for development and plans.

“I want to underscore the unwavering commitment of the Board to deliver top-notch Chinese education.

“We firmly believe that exceptional education is a pivotal catalyst in shaping students’ growth.

“Our school has soared to new heights in recent years, with our students achieving remarkable results in public examinations.

Many of our students have been awarded scholarships from the State Government, corporate companies and prestigious universities at home and abroad.

“These accolades validate the quality of education we provide and stand as a testament to our student’s hard work and dedication,” he said.

Clement said Kian Kok also prioritise students’ moral and ethical development.

“In today’s society, outstanding academic achievements alone are not sufficient.

Therefore, we strive to cultivate our students’ emotional intelligence, equipping them with the courage and wisdom to face challenges.

In the AI era, students must possess more comprehensive skills and psychological qualities to excel in a competitive environment.

“While nurturing intellectual abilities, we also focus on developing their leadership skills.

Future students must be able to take initiative and become outstanding leaders who can guide others.

“Therefore, we will continue to provide various opportunities for students to practice and unleash their potential,” he said.

Clement expressed his gratitude to those who have supported Kian Kok Middle School.

Among the more than 1,000 guests present were Huazong President Tan Sri Dr TC Goh, Tan Sri Paul Lim and Assistant Finance Minister, Tan Lee Fatt.

Guests were entertained by students of Kian Kok to drum and dance performances.
