Kota Kinabalu: The stability of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) State Government is a direct outcome of the close rapport and cooperation among its component parties.

“This is evident from GRS component party leaders’ presence at events hosted by their coalition allies.

“I am happy to see other party leaders at our Hari Raya celebration. This is a way to celebrate friendship and loyalty to political unity,” said Parti Bersatu Sabah Vice President, Datuk Ruslam Muharam.

The Lumadan Assemblyman, who was also the organising chairman of the PBS Hari Raya celebration on Sunday, added that such event was a good platform to strengthen relationships, not just among the members, but also with friends from other component parties.

“As a multiracial party, we celebrate all festivities. This is what makes PBS unique. It is a symbol of unity and harmony.

“Hari Raya is generally celebrated to show our gratitude to God, which doubles as a thanksgiving for observing the month-long Ramadan, and what better way to enjoy the day with all friends,” said Ruslan.

Party President Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili and wife Datin Seri Chhunlin Roeung graced the event which was attended by some 300 members.

Some 32 children from As-Sakinah Orphanage were presented with Duit Raya.
