BEAUFORT: All appointment-based treatments for diabetes mellitus and hypertension patients will be fully relocated to the Beaufort Health Clinic.
Chairman of the Beaufort Hospital Visitors’ Board, Duncan Wong, confirmed said that the relocation to the Beaufort Maternal and Child Health Clinic will begin this Tuesday (10 June).
With Beaufort Hospital now offering in-house specialist services, primary care treatments will gradually be transitioned under the jurisdiction of the Beaufort Health Clinic.
Patients are advised to take note of this change in service location to avoid any inconvenience or confusion when seeking treatment.
“Previously, Beaufort Hospital assisted in operating these services within the hospital premises as the nearest health clinics were located in Membakut, Weston, and Padas Damit, which are relatively far for patients to travel to for treatment,” he said.
This change is largely due to growing patient numbers each year, which has led to longer waiting time and the need to expand services based on healthcare demands in Beaufort district and surrounding clusters, including Kuala Penyu and Sipitang.
Duncan added that it is now time for the district health office to manage the Beaufort Health Clinic and take over primary care services so that the hospital can focus on more complex healthcare services.
For further inquiries, the public may contact the hospital at 087-212333 ext. 236 during office hours, Duncan said.
