IPTM B clinch lawn bowl title

Kota Kinabalu: IPTM B clinched the Super Open Triples title in the inaugural 2015 Kinabalu Borneo Cup Lawn Bowl Championship which ended at the Likas Lawn Bowl Centre, Thursday.The threesome of Noorazilinda Zakaria, Muhd Afzam Farhan Azmi and Mohd Hafiz Mohd Isa beat Wisdom BC from Brunei 13-10 to take home the cash prize of RM7,000 and trophies while the losing finalist received RM3,000.Earlier in the semifinal, the champion defeated Sabah A featuring veteran player Affendy Tan, Lawrence Eging and Hairi Hamzah 8-6 while Wisdom BC edged Philippines C (Marissa Baronda, Ronald Lising, Hommer Mercado) 14-13.

The two losing semifinalists each collected RM 1,500 for their efforts.In the Premier Open Triples , Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) represented by Sukma gold medalist Fatin Aqilah Amran with Atiqah Hassan and Nurul Farhana Roziman beat Sabah B of Supian Buang, Hamzah Ahmad and Viana Majin to claim the title and the cash prize of RM1,000 with the runner-up received RM750.The two losing semifinalists Sukma Labuan D and Sandakan who lost to UMS (8-15) and Sabah B ( 3-12) respectively each received RM500 cash.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
