Two-day Yayasan Sabah Education Carnival starts today

Kota Kinabalu: Yayasan Sabah Group for the first time ever will have its Education Carnival 2015 to be held for two days at the podium compound and Tun Hamdan Theatre, Menara Tun Mustapha starting today (Monday) which involves Public Higher Educational Institutions, Private Higher Educational Institutions, sponsors, other institutions and entrepreneurs.Exciting activities await the public during these two days carnival such as exhibitions by Higher Educational Institutions (Public and Private), Career Exhibition by various agencies, Books Exhibition, Sponsors Exhibitions, Educational Forums, Islamic Counselling and Mathematics Seminars, food stalls, karaoke session, lucky draw and presentation of financial aid to students.

Another highlight of the carnival is the amnesty period to Yayasan Sabah study loan borrowers who have been defaulting in their repayments.

This will cover matters such as: Arrears Exemption where Yayasan Sabah study loan borrowers who have outstanding loan balances will be exempted from paying the arrears, and can only pay the principal amount or balance of the study loan; Legal Action Exemption, as well as, the C-TOS Action where study loan borrowers whose names (including their respective guarantor's names) have been blacklisted in the C-TOS system (website), will be removed if they are present on the day of the carnival and discuss their study loan status to the respective officers assigned at the Kaunter Pengampunan Peminjam Pinjaman Pendidikan Kumpulan Yayasan Sabah (Yayasan Sabah Group's Study Loan Borrowers Amnesty Counter).

Those study loan borrowers who wish to know the status of their loans, as well as whether they have been earmarked for legal or C-TOS action, can refer to the said counter for information. Again if the said borrowers have been earmarked for legal or C-TOS action, they will also be granted amnesty on that day if they agree to repay back their loans as conditioned by Yayasan Sabah Group.

There will be three seminars in conjunction with this carnival namely Education Seminar in Counseling: Islamic Approach Towards Students Excellence (Seminar Pendidikan dalam Kaunseling: Pendekatan Islam ke Arah Kecemerlangan Pelajar), The Needs to Doctorate/Medicinal Professionalism and Homeopathic as we enter year 2020 (Keperluan Profesionalisme Kedoktoran & Homeopathy di Ambang 2020), Workshop Towards Mathematics Excellence (Bengkel Rahsia Cemerlang Matematik) and Driving Students Excellence through Islamic Counseling Approach (Memacu Kecemerlangan Pelajar Melalui Pendekatan Kaunseling Islam) to be delivered by prolific and remarkable panelists.

Some of the panelists to deliver this seminars are Prof. Emeritus Dato' Paduka Mahmood Zuhbidin Abd. Majid from Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Zainab Ismail from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Prof Dato' Dr. Mohamad Abd. Razak, the President of Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS), Dato' Yahya Zainal Abidin, the President of Kolej Islam Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah, Kuantan, Pahang, Prof. Dr. Mornie Hj. Kambrie, the Chairman of SIDMA College which is under Universiti Tunku Abdul Razak, Prof. Madya Dr. Saedah Abd. Ghani from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), CR Wan Amiruddin Wan Abdullah from Pusat Kaunseling, Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Sembilan and the moderator will be Dr. Mohamad Nazli B. Omar from Kolej Universiti Islam Melaka (KUIM).

There will also be forums on higher education sponsorship Biasiswa Kerajaan Negeri Sabah (BKNS), Mara, Yayasan Sabah Group, Perbadanan Tabung Pengajian Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN), Petronas, Pusat Zakat Sabah, Peneraju and Sime Darby.
