Five from Sabah vying for tourism titles in KL

Kota Kinabalu: Five from Sabah and four others are vying for top honours in the forthcoming Miss and Mister Malaysia Borneo Tourism 2015 respectively in Kuala Lumpur.The contenders are among 15 contestants from all over the country. The finalists for Miss Malaysia Borneo Tourism 2015 are required to wear traditional attire in the first round, followed by a parade of evening gown in the second round.

Sabah Cultural and Heritage Association's Director of Sabah Cultures & Traditions, Dr Azlina Ekat said Saturday, this search for the two glamour titles will be held on August 6 at the Historical Sultan Abdul Samad Building from 7pm to 10.30pm.The inaugural winners of this competition – Apohrozy Ezrie Eallie (Mister Malaysia Borneo Tourism 2014) from Sibu, Sarawak, and Miss Joanne Kimberley Majalap (Miss Malaysia Borneo Tourism 2014) from Penampang, Sabah, will make a special appearance.Dr Azlina said the event is a highlight of BCONNECT: Malaysia Borneo Cultural Festival, a collaborative effort by the Sabah Cultural and Heritage Association (Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya), Panggau Singai Events (Sarawak Leading Cultures and Traditions) and a well-known international fashion designer, Von Jolly Couture."The tagline BCONNECT: Malaysia Borneo Cultural Festival…Borneo & Beyond reflects our aim to connect our cultures and traditions internationally. This event is in essence an assertion on a strong Malaysia Borneo (Sabah and Sarawak) identity.
