Kevin Morais: Investigations completed, say police

Kuala Lumpur: The police have completed investigations into the murder of senior deputy public prosecutor (DPP) Anthony Kevin Morais whose body was found in a drum in Subang Jaya last month.This follows the arrest of eight suspects who were charged in court in connection with the killing of the 55-year-old Attorney-General's Chambers' Appellate and Trial Division deputy chief.

"We have thus, concluded our investigations. There is no need to open any more investigation paper...all are completed," said Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Tajuddin Md Isa Monday.

He said this when asked to comment whether police investigations into the case was ongoing or if new investigation papers would be opened.

On Tuesday, six men were charged in court for the murder while two others, including an army pathologist were charged with conspiracy in the case.On Sept 16, the body of the DPP was found in a drum filled with concrete at Persiaran Subang Mewah, Subang Jaya near here.

The late Morais was reported missing on Sept 4 and was last seen leaving his home in Menara Duta here to go to Putrajaya in his Proton Perdana bearing registration number WA6264Q. – Bernama
