Shitokai Sabah finish second in Shah Alam

Kota Kinabalu: Shitokai Sabah finish second overall in the 32nd Inter-Dojo Malaysian Association of Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Championship at UiTM Shah Alam in Selangor, recently.Eleven karatekas hauled a total of eight gold, six silver and four bronze medals to end the tournament in the first runners up spot behind the champion, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa (UIA).

Team Manager, Marc Dagul said the team are looking forward to next year's tournament.

"It was a close fight between us and UIA who won a total of 10 gold medals but we are determined to train hard for the tournament next year and hopefully to win it this time around," he said.

Ludfi Ilham were among the gold medal contributors (two golds, one silver and one bronze) followed by Ally Chong (two golds and one bronze), Jesyntha Chong (two golds and one bronze), Christianus Herman (one gold and one silver) and Melbourne Dinola (one gold).

Meanwhile, six junior karatekas namely Chris Junior, Tomre Howell, Webber Tobias, McRyan Dinero, Evo Wilbur and McRoyce Donovan participated in the tournament where they ended their junior campaign by hauling in seven gold, four silver and one bronze medals.

The contingent was accompanied by Team Coach, Ivan Hiew and team officials, Thomas Chong, Thomas Olin, Martina Edmund and Pauline Sabian.
