Kuala Lumpur: Prominent Sabah accountant, Datuk Alexandra Chin is making headlines again — this time as one of the recipients of the prestigious McMillan Woods Global Awards 2016, dubbed crème de la crème global leaders. She was named Visionary Adviser-Woman of the Year under the Personality Class category.

The accolade is synonymous with Recognising Excellence at its Best in the respective industries.

Just four months ago, Chin, who has been in public practice for 34 years, became the first Malaysian and only the fourth woman in the world to be elected Global ACCA President (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).

She received the global award from Tunku Dato' Mu'tamir Tunku Tan Sri Mohamed who was the guest of honour at Shangri-La Hotel, here.

He said hosting the magnificent global event in Kuala Lumpur has put Malaysia on the world map.

Offering his congratulations to all the winners, Tunku Mu'tamir said such a prestigious global award event would create a sturdy platform towards recognising the many exemplary crème de la crème leaders globally.

"I am sure these global leaders have inspired many people through their outstanding achievements within their respective fields and industries.

"This award ceremony is important because it recognises the efforts and hardship of today's recipients and makes it all worthwhile," he said.

Earlier, the Global President of McMillan Woods, Dato' Raymond Liew said the Awards has stamped its mark as the global award to recognise the industry stalwarts.

He described it as an award to be reckoned with for it belongs only in the hands of true leaders who will man their sails towards the finishing line and beyond.

"We call them the crème de la crème of global successful leaders, which means the best. It's the people's choice award based on public profiling, where the award recipients are vigilantly chosen globally for their success, achievements and leadership qualities.

"There are neither winners nor losers in the award recognition programme – only the best people and organisations that McMillan Woods Global recognises each year," he said.

According to Liew, what sets the award recipients apart from the rest, is their ability to think outside the box and to constantly think ahead in seeking today's solutions for tomorrow's challenges.
