2,365 jobs on offer in SL1M Labuan tomorrow

Labuan: A total of 2,365 training and permanent posts are being offered by 20 government agencies, private and government-linked companies in the second series of the 1Malaysia Training Scheme Open Interviews (SL1M) Programme Labuan on Saturday (April 16).Of the number, at least 30 per cent are permanent posts while the rest are training posts with monthly allowance.

A SL1M executive at the Economic Planning Unit's secretariat, Syed Mohammad Hafiz Syed Shahrul Zaman, said the jobs offered required a minimum of academic qualification of the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia and recognised university degrees.

He said the two-day event would be held from 7am, at the Financial Park Labuan Complex (Ujana Kewangan) convention hall.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar is scheduled to give a motivational talk to job seekers on the first day of the programme before officiating it. Syed Mohammad said 60 per cent of the jobs were in Kuala Lumpur and the rest in Labuan.

Among the participating companies are Labuan Financial Services Authority; Labuan Corporation; Universiti Malaysia Sabah; Permodalan Nasional Berhad; Talent Corp Malaysia; Lembaga Tabung Haji.

Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera; Telekom Malaysia; Tenaga Nasional Berhad; Celcom Axiata; Khazanah Nasional; Maybank; Labuan International School; Multimedia Development Corporaton Sdn Bhd; Sime Darby Berhad.

EPU Director-General Datuk Seri Dr Rahamat Bivi Yusoff in February said SL1M had thus far, helped more than 71,000 graduates nationwide to secure jobs since it was launched in 2011.
