P'pang Umno to make declaration of support an annual affair

Kota Kinabalu: Penampang Umno will make the declaration of support to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Hj Aman an annual affair.Its Chief, Datuk John Ambrose said: "The annual declaration of support is to pass a strong message that the grassroots are firmly behind Najib, who is also Umno President and Musa, who is also Sabah Umno Liaison Chief."Ambrose said making it an annual declaration will also serve as a reminder to detractors who tried to weaken Umno with allegations that was done in bad faith.

"They can say and do what they want but they cannot influence the grassroots' support for Najib and Musa," he said after presenting Penampang Umno's declaration of support to Najib and Musa respectively at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport last Saturday.Ambrose said the declaration was signed by branch heads, including himself, as well as leaders from the Youth, Wanita and Puteri wings, totalling more than 200."All signed and were unanimous in their support for Najib and Musa. Penampang Umno has full confidence in their leadership in leading the country and state respectively."Najib had being going around the country tirelessly, including Sabah, to bring development to the people and Musa likewise, had also gone to all the districts to develop Sabah.

"With strong support from the grassroots, these two leaders can bring tremendous development to the country and Sabah.Their leadership qualities and capabilities deserved our full support," said Ambrose.

He said Najib, despite facing all sorts of allegations for some 18 months with regards to the 1MDB issue and RM2.6 billion donation, the Prime Minister did not crumbled but instead continue to work for the wellbeing of the people and country."And not too long ago, all the allegations were proven to be false and created by a few disgruntled leaders and ex-leaders to serve their own personal agenda," he said.Ambrose said with the episode behind Najib and the strong support from Umno grassroots and the rakyat, he is confident Najib will bring immense development to the country as well as Sabah."Najib launched the Pan Borneo Highway here last Sunday which is going to change the socio-economic landscape of Sabah. But knowing Najib, he won't stop there. He will continue to develop Sabah to be on par with the peninsula," said Ambrose. Ambrose said the Pan Borneo Highway will go down in history as the single largest project being implemented in Sabah by the Federal Government."Before, we can only envy Kuala Lumpur for having multi-billion ringgit projects like the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, F1 race track, Putrajaya administrative centre, highway projects and the list goes on.
