Explore traditional practices to gain income: MP

Tenom: Tenom Member of Parliament Datuk Raime Unggi urged the Murut community to explore practices in their own culture that can be used to generate income.He said the Tagal system is a good example of how a traditional practice can have an economic impact on the community without any cost involved.He also urged them to be involved in various agricultural activities such as coffee, banana, pomelo and avocado planting that have the potential to improve their economy.

Touching on the Pan Borneo Highway project that was launched by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak a few days ago, he said it would bring a lot of benefits to the people in the State especially those who live in the interior.He said the highway will enable their local products to reach every corner of Sabah.
