"We dispatched a fire engine and six men to the scene. They arrived at around 2.16pm and found that a Toyota Vios had plunged about 12m into a sewer under construction along Jalan Universiti near Section 17, here.

"With the help of police, we closed off the affected road and sent two firemen into the sewer to assess the situation," he said when met at the scene Tuesday.

He said they managed to hoist the wrecked car out of the sewer using a crane from a nearby construction site at around 3.45pm.
