Johor: Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar had an audience with Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim to clear the air on several matters.State Police Chief Comm Datuk Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd confirmed that the meeting between Tunku Ismail and Khalid took place at Istana Bukit Pelangi here on Thursday morning.

"We arrived at the palace at around 10am and the meeting between Tunku Ismail and Khalid lasted about half an hour.

"I did not know what was being discussed between both leaders but I believe it helped iron out some misunderstandings," he said when met during a reunion among his former squad mates at KSL Resort Hotel, here.

Comm Wan Ahmad Najmuddin said that after the meeting, he accompanied Khalid back to Senai International Airport.

"I can not comment further on the matter as the Inspector General Police will make a statement soon about the issue," he said.

He was asked to comment on claims made by Tunku Ismail that Bukit Aman's Special Branch had tapped his mobile phone.

Tunku Ismail, who is also Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) football club owner, said this in a transcript interview with a journalist which was uploaded on Southern Tigers Facebook page on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Khalid said Tunku‎ Ismail's claim that the Bukit Aman Special Branch had tapped his mobile phone was a misunderstanding.

"This morning I met Tunku. I have explained to Tunku and there is no problem.‎ It is a small misunderstanding which is why Tunku made the posting.

"I have met him and clarified the misunderstanding," he told reporters after attending the Rujirawongse Rugby Cup 2016.
