No request for third Penang bridge: Fadillah

PETALING JAYA: Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has denied claims that the Federal Government stymied the Penang government's bid to build a third bridge, leaving the undersea tunnel project the only option.In a statement on Friday, he expressed surprise that Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng had said the state government had no choice but to build the tunnel because it was difficult to obtain approval from the Federal Government for a third bridge."Checks with my ministry have shown no such request, application or even discussions with us to build a third Penang bridge.
