Kuala Penyu: All United Sabah Islamic Association (Usia) divisions and branches are urged to update their membership database to ensure the NGO is more organised and systematic and to make it easier for members to check their membership status."This is crucial in making sure that Usia can be a strong and robust Islamic NGO in the State," said its Secretary General Datuk Hamzah Datuk Mohd Zakaria when speaking at the Kuala Penyu Usia Annual General Meeting here, Thursday.

He said if the membership is not updated, members who have already passed away would still be included in the membership list.

Hamzah said each division and branch must be proactive in making administrative management its core activity but not neglecting other activities which would be beneficial to the association.

"We need to breath a new life into the association by recruiting new members and invite them to work together to spread Islam and transform Usia into an association which will remain relevant at all times and ages.

"We want all educated, professional, intellectual and charismatic people in Usia," he said.

Hamzah also hoped that all Usia branches can plan and conduct activities that would be beneficial for the society especially the Muslims.

He also urged Muslims to avoid disunity among themselves because it would only weaken the community and will render them powerless as what had happened to several Islamic countries in the world today.
