Illegal 4D: Man fined RM3,000

Kota Kinabalu: A 49-year-old man was slapped with a fine of RM3,000 or two months' jail for having illegal 4D lottery paraphernalia.Chong Yen Kiung pleaded guilty to committing the offence at 3.40pm on April 30 in a premises next to a restaurant at Taman Bersatu in Putatan.Prosecuting officer Inspector Isfandiar Jasdi told Magistrate Cindy Mc Juce Balitus that Chong was detained by police for operating an illegal lottery business.

The paraphernalia, including two 4D slips, a portable printer, a handphone, two pens and RM101 in cash.Chong had committed an offence under Section 9(1) of the Common Gaming House Act, which provides for a fine of up to RM5,000 or up to six months' jail on conviction.In another case, three motorists were fined a total of RM3,600 for drink-driving.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Amydonna Bildram, Paul Gintuu and Md Shahezzey Salim admitted to committing the offence during the wee hours between April 28 and May 14 along Jalan Tun Fuad and Jalan 20, here.

Amydonna, Paul and Shahezzey were fined RM1,000, RM1,200 and RM1,400, respectively, or spend four months behind bars.
