Businessman shot dead; cops suspect professional hitman

SHAH ALAM: A 43-year-old businessman was shot dead in his vehicle near Sungai Rasau Toll Plaza here.Gooi Tan Hock was found lifeless with six gunshots to his body.

District police chief, Assistant Commissioner Shafien Mamat said in the incident around 4.35pm, the victim was believed to have been driving his Toyota Vellfire towards home in Kajang from Klang.

"The victim is believed to have been shot dead by an individual on a motorcycle.

Prior to the incident, the victim had presumably managed to pay toll using his Touch N Go card," he told reporters here.

He said the engine of the car was still running when police reached the victim, and did not find any valuable items in the vehicle.

Investigations found 10 gunshots aimed at the vehicle and six at the victim, said Shafien, adding, police believed the shooter was a professional, from the accuracy of his shots.

Meanwhile, in JOHOR BARU, the police are seeking the next-of-kin of a man whose body was found at the Tan Yoke Fong oil palm plantation near Kulai last month.

Kulai police chief Supt Razak Md Said said the body was currently at the Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital mortuary here.

He said a post-mortem revealed the cause of death due to shortness of breath.

According to Razak, the police received information on May 29, that a body was found under an oil palm tree at the plantation.

"However, no identification document was found on the victim who was believed to have been dead for two months, based on the state of decomposition," he said in a statement.

He said the body was clad in Polo brand short-sleeved shirt, Renoma brand underwear, brown leather belt with Timberland brand buckle and long blue jeans.
