Kota Kinabalu: Dragon Air, which is in the midst of rebranding as Cathay Dragon by the final quarter of this year, will commence four-times weekly services from Hong Kong to London's Gatwick Airport this September. Dragon Air, the sister airline of Cathay Pacific, currently operates Kota Kinabalu to Hong Kong five times a week.
Speaking at the company's annual dinner here, Dragon Air Sabah, Sarawak and Brunei Manager Eva Ng said the launching of the Gatwick route will complement the airline's five-time daily service to London's Heathrow Airport.

This will bring to a total of 39 flights between Hong Kong and London each week by the airline.
"Going forward, Dragon Air and Cathay Pacific will keep on surpassing the best in providing our passengers high quality products and services.
"We will also continue to grow our frequencies and expand our network even further to offer customers more choice and flexibility," said Ng.
The airline had just launched its Madrid service earlier this month.

Earlier, Ng said the slump in the oil and gas industry and Ringgit, as well as the global economic slowdown had greatly affected the airline's outbound travel in 2015.
However, she said the airline explored new routes, introduced new travel packages and diversified the portfolio of its cargo business to cushion much of the impacts of these turn of events.
Ng also announced her return to the company's headquarters in Hong Kong after being in Kota Kinabalu for one year.
She will be replaced by Ashley Yang, the Chief Representative of Dragon Air Philippines, who will assume the position in August.
Ng also announced the delivery of the new A350 which features Cathay Pacific's latest inflight products in the Business Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy Class Cabins.
"Dragon Air will soon be rebranded as Cathay Dragon in the fourth quarter of this year.
This will be a change that leads Cathay Pacific and Dragon Air into a new era of opportunity and growth.
"We will be changing our logos and liveries in the coming months," said Ng on the airline's rebranding process.
Kota Kinabalu International Airport was Dragon Air's first destination after it commenced operations in July 1985 and also transports live fish from Kota Kinabalu via its cargo business.
