Klagan Regency aims to become premier hotel

Kota Kinabalu: The Klagan Regency has set its sights on becoming the premier business, leisure and convention hotel in the city.Its Director of Sales, Natalia Nadirah Saiman, said the hotel offers the best location for travellers, especially foreign tourists."Our target market is more on government and corporate bodies as well as social events, like wedding receptions.

"For tourists, they mainly come to Sabah to experience our beautiful beaches and other natural beauties. "Tourists love our location as the hotel is situated next to a shopping mall, 1Borneo… after visiting the beaches and islands, they can go back to the hotel and do their shopping here. They don't need to go to the city centre," she said, Tuesday.She added that the hotel is currently working closely with some of the tenants in 1Borneo so that guests can get benefits for their purchases at selected outlets.The Klagan Regency is located along Jalan Sulaman and it is only 15 minutes away from the city centre and 25 minutes away from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA).

"Our hotel is the closest venue for those who are staying in Tuaran, Kota Belud and even Ranau to hold wedding receptions as we have a spacious grand ballroom."The grand ballroom can fit up to 1,800 persons or 100 tables," she said, adding that the hotel has a total of 269 rooms – ranging from standard to presidential rooms.

Natalia said the hotel is also located halfway to most of the tourist attractions in the northern side of the State."It will facilitate your journey to Kinabalu Park, Simpang Mengayau and so on. We offer the best spot for those who want to explore the rural northern area but at the same time looking for a decent accommodation and slightly closer to the city."Currently our main market share is from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and a little bit of Korea, Europe and locals. During the weekend, the Bruneians also frequent the hotel."We are also constantly linking with tour and travel agents."Since starting its operations on April 1 last year, according to her, the response and business has been good for Klagan Regency even though they faced a slight hiccup during the transitional period."But business is picking up, especially with our links with travel agents. Plus, we have obtained the Halal certification," Natalia said.The hotel is currently offering promotional rates starting from RM148 for its rooms.
