Kota Kinabalu: Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS Sabah) welcomed former Umno members Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir and suspended Umno member Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal to join the party. Its State Commissioner Mohd Aminuddin Aling said following reports of the fallout of the 300 Semporna Umno branch members, it is time for all the former party members to also join PAS. "I am confident many Umno members are frustrated with abuse and misappropriation of powers in the present Government but left without a choice for fear they might be expelled like Muhyiddin and Mukhriz," he said.

According to him, PAS Sabah viewed that Umno will not change its ways, as they were willing to sack its number two leader when he questioned the controversial 1MDB saga and RM2.6 billion donation.
