Boy struck by remote-controlled plane in Baling

Alor Setar: A five-year-old boy had to undergo surgery for a fracture on the forehead after being struck by a remote-controlled plane in Pekan Kampung Lalang, Baling last Friday.Mohammed Ammar Izzuddin Muhammad Zambri was riding pillion on a motorcycle with two family members when the mini-aircraft suddenly plunged and struck him on the head.A 40-year-old man was flying the plane when the incident occurred about 6.30pm.

Mohammed Ammar Izzuddin's father, Muhammad Zambri Zakaria, 31, said he was at home at the time of the incident.He said he received a call from his sister-in-law, informing him that his son was bleeding in his head and ear."My son was pillion riding on a motorcycle with his 19-year-old cousin sister, and heading to the nearby night market when suddenly, the remote-controlled aircraft fell and struck his head."My sister-in-law took my son to the Baling Hospital before being told to take him to the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital in Sungai Petani for scanning.

"After the scan, he was referred to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for further treatment. My child suffered a six-centimetre cut across his forehead which was two centimetres deep, and underwent surgery at 11.30am today," he told reporters here today.

Muhammad Zambri said the remote-controlled aircraft should not have been flown in the vicinity as it was close to a public area.His wife, Nor Hafiza Harun, 32, said she was disappointed with the man who flew the plane as he did not even apologise to the couple over the matter.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
