Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has confirmed that there were no elements of corruption found in the pendrive submitted by Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.MACC Director of Investigations Datuk Azam Baki in a statement said the commission had studied the 279-page document in the pendrive before coming to the conclusion.

"Accordingly, the MACC will send a report on the investigations to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) in the near future for them to improve and take follow-up action, especially on the technical issues raised," he said here, Monday.

MACC, he said, was also ready to cooperate with the FAM and any related parties should there be issues pertaining to corruption. The Tengku Mahkota Johor (TMJ) Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim had given the pendrive to Khairy on Aug 26, which was in turn handed over to the MACC by the Youth and Sports Minister last Friday.

Meanwhile, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) hope the MACC declaration that there was no evidence of corruption in the contents of the pen drive submitted by Khairy will put an end to the issue.

"With the MACC's confirmation, we hope the issue is resolved. We wish to clarify that the FAM is always willing to cooperate with the MACC or any other body, including fans, for the sake of football in the country," said FAM Secretary-General Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin in a statement Monday.

Hamidin said the association would also accept the views and recommendations of the MACC, especially technical issues that were highlighted. He said the FAM would study the investigation report from the MACC before taking any action. – Bernama
