Higher Edu Ministry Sec-Gen heads list of award recipients

Kuala Lumpur: Higher Education Ministry Secretary-General Tan Sri Dr Noorul Ainur Mohd Nur heads the list of 225 recipients of the 2016 Federal awards and honours in conjunction with the official birthday celebration of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah last June. Tuanku Abdul Halim conferred the Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM) award, which carries the Tan Sri title, to Noorul Ainur at the investiture ceremony at the Istana Negara here Thursday, which was also attended by Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah. The official birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong was celebrated on June 4.

Other recipients of the PSM were the National Culture and Arts Department Director-General Tan Sri Norliza Rofli, Hot Media Sdn Bhd Executive Chairman Tan Sri N. Puvanendran, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Board of Directors Chairman Tan Sri Dr Ibrahim Saad, Rural Capital Sdn Bhd Chairman Tan Sri Abu Seman Yusop and former Deputy Minister of Information Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Mohd Yunus. Tuanku Abdul Halim also conferred the Darjah Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN) award, which carried the Datuk title, to seven recipients, including Court of Appeal Judge Datuk Ong Lam Kiat. Other recipients of the PJN were Kedah State Secretary Datuk Bakar Din, Election Commission secretary Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh and Jelutong Umno division chief Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman, Bagan Datoh MIC Chairman Datuk R. Tuanku Abdul Halim also conferred the Johan Mangku Negara (JMN) award to seven recipients, Johan Setia Mahkota (JSM) (10 recipients), Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN)(31 recipients), Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN) (56 recipients), Pingat Pangkuan Negara (PPN) (67 recipients) and Bentara Setia Diraja (BSD) (41 recipients). – Bernama
